Pastor Napoleon Harris is the proud pastor of the First Baptist Church of South Inglewood, whom he calls "the best bunch of people God ever put together." He has served God through the pastoral ministry for nearly ten years with a ministry characterized by a holistic approach to ministry aimed at justice, community outreach, and a dedication to transformative preaching and teaching to lead believers into deepening relationships with God.
A unique hybrid mix between Generation X and the Millenial generation Pastor Harris was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Reverend Napoleon Harris IV, pastor of the Second Metropolitan Baptist Church in Cleveland Ohio and Linda Gayle Harris. Minister Harris was licensed on March 21, 2004 by his two spiritual mentors: his father, and pastor, Rev. C.W. Goodwin Sr., of the Watson Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Nashville, TN.
Pastor Harris attended Tennessee State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2003 and again in August of 2004 with a M.Ed. in Educational Administration while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. In May of 2008, Minister Harris received the Masters in Divinity (M.Div.) from Vanderbilt Divinity School. While attending Vanderbilt, Minister Harris received a certificate from the Kelly Miller Smith Institute Black Church Studies. In the same year Min. Harris began pastoring the Shiloh Baptist Church in Norwalk, CT. In May 2011, he continued his commitment to education earning a Sixth Year Certificate in Elementary Education while maintaining a 3.78 GPA and in 2013 he earned a cross endorsement in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University while working bi-vocationally as a Special Education High School teacher. At present Minister Harris is pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Outside of the pulpit and world of academia Pastor Harris prides himself on being a devoted husband and father. His greatest aspiration in life is being an exceptional father and husband. Pastor Harris holds that after salvation his wife is the greatest thing to have ever happened to him, and he often boasts of being married to "the best thing God ever made." His lovely wife is the former Sherma Nyasha Douglass of the Murray's Village region of Kingstown, St. Vincent. Harris and enjoys spending time with their two spirited daughters Grace, and Kara Joy Harris. Minister Harris is a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. In addition he also serves civically as a student mentor, and community advocate; recreationally Pastor Harris has taken to golf, Netflix, and softball.
Professionally Minister Harris has received various service awards and community recognitions from newspaper articles to commendations from state officials.
